You can import any midi groove you want on each of the 8 engines, they also have swing on each engine, and you can extract grooves from your own loops, wavs, breaks, etc which is dope I always feel with sequencers like this, bpm, etc.even with the grid off it's never really off. I'm not a huge fan of step based sequencers, every sequencer I've owned was more based on bars instead of steps (yes I know it's pretty much the same but it's not lol.you know what I mean) How's the sequencing? Is there groove quantize? Does it feel like a quality sequencer? While I don't prefer the sequencing, I can say it's a quality sequencer. Since it samples it might be fun to try and use like I use the MPC1k at times - playing keys / chords into the sampler, then slicing and sequencing. I guess it could be used as a sketchpad in that way, but honesty I've just been using it as a drum sampler within other hosts. I just picked up a MPD24, so I haven't really mapped it all out and pretended like I was using a virtual-mpc just yet.

I may end up getting this along with pro tools 9 and Mach V2 on a macbookpro.Sequencing is cool - very MPC like, down to the note repeat and erase button. Also the sound quality was good compared to my MPC2kxl but when I moved to a 4k my samples sounded better in it than guru. I had Guru very early on, so much of it may have been fixed and I'm sure this new plug improves on it anyway, but the sequencer didn't feel like something I'd work on regularly. How's the sequencing? Is there groove quantize? Does it feel like a quality sequencer? I tried Guru for a while before buying my 4k.
